The tools for the HSS cooling channel drills are changed using a manual quick-change tool chuck. The workpiece is secured by a vertical hydraulic hold-down device which clamps the component (profile or flat steel) at the position previously approached for the drilling process. The drilling unit includes web and flange height measurement, automatic electronic stepless feed and speed control (constant monitoring), which enables optimum cutting, adjustment by means of a frequency-controlled spindle drive, and the attachment of center punching points is possible.
