The system operated flawlessly from 2013 to 2024 with regular maintenance. Technical specifications: Untreated raw wastewater enters an oversized sump below the filter unit, from where a transfer pump with a capacity of approximately 25 m³/h conveys it to the pre-filter unit. The system filters the technological wastewater generated during operation through a Ø1 mm filter screen within 10 minutes of its generation, in automatic mode. Solid materials larger than 1x1 mm are collected in a 240-liter, covered plastic container, while the water phase containing dissolved and suspended solids flows by gravity to a transfer well that also collects municipal wastewater. After the completion of the harvesting operations, the wastewater discharge rate decreases to 20-40% of the harvesting water flow. This water is usually acidic; therefore, the discharge pH can be adjusted by adding a solution of sodium hydroxide (20-30% concentration).
