The clamping system was used for machining brass cages for ball and roller bearings. It is not a conventional turning chuck for a machine spindle, but rather a permanently mounted workpiece clamping device.
The design features twelve basic jaws arranged radially and evenly around the circumference. This distributes the clamping force over numerous contact points. This clamping principle is particularly suitable for large, ring-shaped, thin-walled, sensitive, or easily deformable workpieces.
