The Screen Bit Remover continuously removes broken fragments of crop and debris from the produce flow. Carrots are transferred onto a traveling screen with a set size aperture. As the screen is conveyed forward, two full-width agitators gently move the crop causing any bits and debris to drop on to a waste conveyor below where the produce is taken over the end. The screen and agitator speeds are variably controlled individually to suit the various crop conditions.

A dosing unit for gum arabic is integrated into the line. This system allows for precise addition of stabilising agents post-filling, which helps maintain wine clarity and prevent precipitation during storage. A dedicated steam generator (vapouriser) is included for both line sanitisation and, when required, pre-heating applications.
Prior to filling, a microfiltration unit is positioned to ensure that the product entering the tribloc meets the desired microbiological standards. This step is essential for ensuring product stability and quality without the need for excessive chemical preservatives.

Explanation of the short period of use:
The entire line of Cross Wrap bale openers type BO 4000 was installed at a municipal waste incineration plant in 2015. The background to the installation was that in the case of a malfunction or maintenance of the incinerator, the municipal waste could continue to be received, baled, wrapped and stored until the malfunction was cleared. Then the bales should all be opened again and the waste fed into the normal incineration process.
This worst-case scenario never came to pass. The plant was set up, run in and then never used in regular operation. Only during the commissioning and running-in of the entire plant in 2015 were 674 bales opened on three days. The plant is in very good condition and ready for operation immediately. Due to reconstruction measures in the incineration plant, the installation area of the bale opener was needed. As a result, the entire line is for sale.
Short description of the wrapping process:
The pressed bales are placed on the infeed conveyor belt from the side or from behind by means of a forklift truck. For opening, the bales must run horizontally to the conveyor belt with the wire or twine binding, otherwise the bales must be turned 90° beforehand. The opening conveyor brings one bale at a time in front of the cutting unit. The grippers hold the wires or twine strapping. The front and rear rotating knives slit the bale lengthwise. Afterwards, the gripper returns to the starting position. The opened bale is now conveyed via the conveyor belt to the discharge chute and then falls onto the following conveyor system.
Comments:
New price of the completely plant 296.000,- €. The documentation (operating instructions, CE declaration, electrical/hydraulic circuit diagram) is complete. The unit has been dismantled into freight-manageable units, stored and is available for inspection and loading at short notice. We do not accept any liability for the technical details or any errors.

Condition of the machine:
The feed hopper with bag opener was used at a large recycling plant, where recyclable materials from yellow bags or commercial waste were tipped into the hopper using wheel loaders, the bags were opened using the bag opener, and the recyclable materials were transported to a sorting plant or the commercial waste was transported in measured quantities for further processing. The system functioned flawlessly until it was dismantled and replaced with a larger system with higher throughput capacity. The machine was dismantled into individual parts in our workshop, partially overhauled, reassembled, and tested during operation.
The following overhaul work was carried out and the following spare parts were replaced:
Dismantling of the feed hopper and bag opener into individual parts. Cleaning, partial sandblasting, priming and painting of the steel parts.

Various wear and cover plates were newly manufactured and installed.
Cutting off the worn ends (approx. 40cm) of the push floor pipes. Welding on the new pipes and smoothing the push floor pipes.
Replacement of all plastic sliding plates for the hydraulic push floor.
Removal of the hydraulic unit from the push floor, emptying of the hydraulic oil tank, replacement of the oil filters, refilling with new hydraulic oil.
Replacement of the three hydraulic blocks, all valves, the oil sight glass and all hydraulic hoses from the hydraulic unit.
The seal kit and hydraulic hoses were replaced on all three hydraulic cylinders of the push floor.
All six limit switches (proximity sensors) on the push floor were replaced.
The conveyor chains on the left and right of the scraper conveyor were replaced.
Seven carrier bars on the scraper conveyor were replaced.
The drive motor for the ripper blades was replaced.
All nine pneumatic cylinders for the pressure pipes were replaced. All pneumatic lines and connections were replaced.
All of the plastic sliding plates for the hydraulic operation of the bag opener were replaced. The bag opener can be moved vertically so that the system can also be used for commercial waste or residual waste without the bag opener.
The side impact protection plates on both sides were replaced.
Various wear parts of the bag opener have been replaced.
The entire system has been rewired and reconnected.
The system control in the control cabinet has been retrofitted by the manufacturer BRT Hartner to a self-sufficient individual control system and the standard programme has been reloaded into the control system.
