In the cutting process, the main cutting motion is the movement of the cutting blade, while the feed is achieved by lowering the arm. The arm lowering speed (cutting speed) is controlled by a hydraulic cylinder.
The feed rate is regulated via the saw’s control panel. Two blade speeds are available: 35 and 70 m/min. When the arm reaches its lower position (after the cut), the drive to the cutting blade is automatically switched off. Safety is ensured by blade guards and micro-switches that stop the motor after the cutting cycle or when any guard is opened. Additional protection automatically switches off the bandsaw in the event of blade breakage.
