The original LARC vehicles were equipped with two Cummins 8-cylinder diesel engines, each delivering 300 HP. On land, the vehicles could reach a maximum speed of 48 km/h and, on water, 9.5 knots, which is approximately 18 km/h. The unladen weight of the vehicle is 22 tons. Around €200,000 was invested, but the project was not completed. The diesel engines have been removed and are no longer available. Battery packs are present and partially installed.
