An integrated heat pump recovers the evaporation heat, which is why the energy requirement is significantly lower than with conventional thermal evaporation. The wastewater is separated into two streams: a distillate with low residual load and a thickened concentrate with a greatly reduced volume. An integrated acid reaction binds ammonia as an ammonium sulfate solution. This solution can be used as a liquid nitrogen fertilizer.
