Mode of operation
• The mixer is installed on load cells. The current material weight is displayed on the display at all times.
• For example, if a total mixture of 4,500 kg is to be produced, this can be dosed precisely according to a predefined mixing ratio, e.g. 80% main material (3,600 kg), 10% additive (450 kg), 7% additive (315 kg) and 3% additive (135 kg).
• The smaller additives are pre-weighed and fed into trough screw conveyor 1 via the additive hopper using a travelling carriage from big bags.
• Subsequently, the main material is conveyed into the mixer via trough screw conveyor 1 until the desired total weight of 4,500 kg is reached.
• After that, the feed is stopped via the trough screw conveyor.
• The mixing process then takes place according to the requirements. In our application, the mixing time was approximately 20 minutes.
• After the mixing process is complete, the material is discharged via trough screw conveyor 2. To do this, the direction of rotation of the drive motor is switched at the control panel and the discharge screw conveyor is switched on.
• The finished mixture can then be filled directly into containers or loaded into transport vehicles (in our case, a push-off trailer or manure spreader).
Mixing process based on weight percentages
1. The main material is fed into the trough screw conveyor via the large stainless steel hopper, which then conveys the material into the mixer. In our case, this consisted of solid components from biogas waste.

2. Additional components can be added directly from big bags onto the main material using a second stainless steel hopper and a traverse. This ensures pre-mixing during the conveying process. In our application, biochar and bentonite were added.
3. Liquid components are sprayed directly into the mixer. In our case, we used EMa (activated effective microorganisms) for this purpose.
